What it does

The three questions you ask every time gold moves.

News

Is this good or bad for gold?

Each one is marked bullish, bearish or neither, with the reason. A called-off strike is not an escalation, and a "price war" has nothing to do with gold.

Data

Was that number a big deal?

Every US print is scored against its forecast in the release's own units, so a verdict reads 24K below forecast rather than "worse than expected".

The call

Which way is gold leaning?

One score, with its four inputs and their weights beside it. If the reading is bullish on the dollar rather than the news, that shows.

Track record

Every call is graded against where price went next: a reading every five minutes, checked an hour later.

The 95% range still includes 50%, so no hit rate is shown. The range is published instead. When it clears 50%, the number appears here.

Why the count overstates it. Readings are logged every 5 minutes but graded over an hour, so they overlap. The usable sample is far smaller than the raw count.

Where the numbers come from

Official releases where they exist, a named fallback where they don't. Figures recovered from an agency rather than a live print are labelled.
